All Aboard Washington, a non-profit organization that promotes better passenger rail service in the Pacific Northwest, and The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to co-sponsor the Central Washington Passenger Rail Summit at the Yakima Convention Center.

The East-West Passenger Rail Study is currently underway, and is scheduled for completion by June 30. We will hear updates on the study from representatives of the Washington State DOT Rail Division, the Joint Legislative Transportation Committee (JTC), and JTC's contractor STEER.

The purposes of the summit are to:

  • Increase public awareness regarding the feasibility and economic benefits of restoring passenger rail service to Central Washington
  • Encourage state, regional and local organizations to incorporate passenger rail into their planning efforts
  • Increase support from the public and from elected representatives

All are welcome to attend, including:

  • State and local government representatives from Yakima, Kittitas, Benton, and Franklin Counties
  • Business owners
  • General public
